Equity investment into Indian real estate reached $9.5 billion in the July–September quarter, the highest quarterly total CBRE has recorded, according to its India Market Monitor for Q3 2026. That compares with $4.4 billion a year earlier and $3.8 billion in the April–June quarter.
Inflows for the first nine months of 2026 reached $18.6 billion, already more than the $14.2 billion recorded in all of 2025.
Foreign money leads
Foreign investors provided about 59% of the quarter's capital, and investors from the United States accounted for about 90% of that, followed by Canada, Singapore and Japan. Institutional investors made up about 79% of inflows.
Data centres, offices and land
Data centres, completed office buildings and land or development sites together took nearly 91% of the money. CBRE said data-centre investment rose several times over compared with both the previous quarter and a year earlier, citing digitalisation and AI-led demand. Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Chennai together drew about 53% of the inflows.
Anshuman Magazine, CBRE's chairman and chief executive for India, South-East Asia, the Middle East and Africa, called it a "landmark quarter" and said global investors had returned with conviction.
