Delhi will bring in a set of anti-pollution measures from November 1, announced alongside the invocation of GRAP Stage I on October 21. Here is what they mean for residents.

1. No PUC, no fuel

Fuel stations will refuse petrol and diesel to vehicles without a valid Pollution Under Control certificate. Check your certificate's expiry date and get a fresh test at an authorised centre before November 1.

2. Curbs on older vehicles from outside Delhi

Vehicles registered outside Delhi that do not meet BS-VI standards will face entry restrictions. CNG and electric vehicles are exempt. Daily commuters from neighbouring cities with older petrol or diesel vehicles should plan alternatives such as the Metro.

3. Work from home and staggered timings

The government plans 50% work from home for government and private offices, staggered office timings and doubled parking charges at authorised parking, through February 28. Parking at Delhi Metro stations is exempt.

4. More Metro trips

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is adding 20 extra weekday trips.

Rules can be tightened further if air quality worsens and higher GRAP stages are invoked. Check official advisories from the Delhi government and CAQM.
