Rain denied India and West Indies a finish to their five-match T20I series on Saturday, October 17, with the deciding match at Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium abandoned and the series shared 2-2.
West Indies captain Shai Hope chose to bowl after a toss delayed by rain. Play began 1 hour 45 minutes late and was reduced to nine overs a side. India reached 118 for 5 in 7.4 overs, hitting eight fours and seven sixes, before rain returned and the umpires called off play after only 48 minutes of cricket.
Ishan Kishan led the charge and struck the 100th six of the series before falling to Shamar Joseph. Naman Dhir was unbeaten on 24 off six balls. More than 20,000 spectators attended the ground's first international since October 2024.
How the series unfolded
India won the opener on October 6, powered by Shreyas Iyer's maiden T20I hundred, while West Indies levelled the series 2-2 in the fourth match on October 14 with a five-wicket haul from Keemo Paul. Iyer captained India in the T20Is and Shubman Gill in the ODIs that preceded them.
